1 Month High Energy Experiment

If you have fatigue then I predict that you'll have much more energy by doing an experiment for a few weeks along the lines of what I did. i.e. Cut out totally anything and everything fatty and eliminate all cooked food and animal products.

During the experiment, eat none at all of any of the following:

Cooked food,
Nuts,
seeds,
oil,
avocados,
refined foods,
dairy, eggs, animal or fish products.

Only eat fruit and tender greens plus other easy to digest salad stuff.

Avoid anything that may place even a small amount of strain on your digestive system or its delicate bacteria balance, such as:

Spicy foods, garlic, ginger, salt, tap water (chemicals are in it), caffeine drinks, fizzy drinks, any other beverages (no matter what the health claims), alcohol, vinegar, sugar, spices, 'super food' supplements and powders. Avoid mushrooms and yeast. Keep off fatty and vinegar dressings.

Avoid mouldy areas, or sort out damp problems at home.

Ensure that you sunbathe.

Exercise daily - especially when you get more energy.

Get your calories from fruit, especially sweet fruit.

Ensure that you eat enough calories. Women may typically need to eat 20 pieces of fruit a day, a man 20 to 30 pieces. Check out http://www.nutridiary.com and make sure that you eat enough calories. If you starve yourself, you may well feel a little better, but you are unlikely to experience a surge in energy levels.

Keep drinking water, although you'll probably need a little less due to the high water content fruit and salads. 8 glasses a day is the normal recommended amount (drink typically 1 litre of WATER for every five stone of body weight). Only drink water though and not beverages. Just use filtered water, or distilled water (my preference). Drinking anything else doesn't count as part as your recommended daily consumption of water.

After a few days, try to increase the amount of greens in your diet to 1 to 2 pounds a day. This is really important. Weigh it out as well, just to make sure. You can have some in a green smoothie in the morning, or for lunch, and eat the rest in the evening. Go steady on the heavier greens, especially at first. Try to make sure that you eat green greens as well, hearty lettuce are not as good as darker green open leaf lettuce. Raw spinach is an excellent choice, it has a nice dark green colour and it's easy to digest.

Try to eat plenty of fruit earlier in the day, and the greens later on.

If you can eat mono meals then that can really help your digestion as well. A mono meal is a meal of one type of raw natural whole food. For example, try a whole pineapple for breakfast, or a whole water melon as a snack. My energy levels are usually much higher on days when I eat mono meals, or when I have meals with just 2 or 3 raw natural foods in them.

Try not to eat within 2 or 3 hours before bedtime, especially fruit. Otherwise you may find that you have so much energy that it keeps you awake.

After a few weeks you may add a very small amount of fatty food such as soaked/sprouted seeds. Try not to have more than 1 tablespoon full every day. I have typically 2 tablespoons of fat foods (seeds) a week. You could occasionally have raw nuts, but these are very difficult to find. I try to keep off nuts nowadays.

You should within 2 or 3 days notice considerable improvements in energy levels. That doesn't mean the cause of the fatigue is gone. It will take a while for your body to rid itself of toxins and to heal itself. You may well have an occasional blip, but the blips should be much more manageable.

After a couple of weeks I had a huge surge in a sense of well-being, I developed an incredible joy. When our body has purged out many of the toxins and received the nutrition is needs, then we are in a much better position to experience what should be our natural joyful state. There are other things that can hinder the joy as well, such as spiritual reasons, stress, emotional and relationship reasons. However, stressful food and the assault it places on our body is one of the main reasons we can be robbed of our joy.

I have found that eating a clean simple diet like this has been excellent at allowing me to become healthier and more joyful.
